Prime Minister Modi has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patil has announced a compensation of 4 lakhs to the family of the deceased. I am deeply saddened by the tragedy of suspension bridge collapse in Morbi. Relief and rescue operations are underway. Instructions have been given to arrange for immediate treatment of the injured. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel tweeted that he is in constant touch with the district administration in this regard.
