strengthens human values, Rambhapuri Peetha Veerasomeswara Swamiji said on

part of Dussehra celebrations in Belur town today, Swamiji said that religious
leaders have worked sincerely to maintain peace and harmony. He said that
people should also follow the thoughts of saints and religious leaders to keep
violence away from society.
Speaking on the occasion, BC Nagesh, Minister for Primary and
Secondary Education, emphasized the importance of the National Education Policy
and said that education is essential to bring the neglected people into the
mainstream.
Later the devotees organized the Addapalakki festival and Swamiji's procession in a decorated chariot took place through the main streets of the town.
Linking of land survey details of 78
lakh farmers of the state to Aadhaar card: Basavaraj Bommai
Bengaluru: Karnataka has reached a
major milestone in the digitization of agriculture sector. Land survey details
of 78 lakh farmers in the state have been linked to their Aadhaar number. Chief
Minister Basavaraja Bommai said that Karnataka is the first state in the
country to achieve this feat.
Details of about 63 lakh farmers and
16 lakh landless farmers have been uploaded through Bhoomi software developed
by Karnataka government. He said that farmers are taking interest in land
survey and so far 212 crore plots have been digitized in Karnataka.
The CM, who participated in a video
conference with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on natural and digital
agriculture, opened the first nano-urea unit in Bengaluru, which was introduced
to farmers after a detailed study. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream is to
double farmers' income. Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat are three states
that have adopted organic farming
Karnataka now has five agriculture
and horticulture universities and under the guidance of the universities
natural farming is being done on 1,000 acres of land. Bommai said 2.4 lakh
hectares of land is being converted from organic farming to natural farming and
an additional one lakh hectares will be converted to natural farming by March
2023.
41,434 farmers have been selected for
natural farming. He said that apart from attending the workshops, these farmers
will make 200 field visits.
