86th All India Kannada Literary Conference on January 6, 7 and 8 at Haveri


Bengaluru: Amidst much confusion, it has been decided to hold the 86th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan at Haveri for three days on January 6, 7 and 8.

Kannada and Culture Department Minister Sunil Kumar finalized the date in discussion with Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai.

Eight to ten lakh people are expected to join the conference and 30 thousand accommodation arrangements will be made. 2.50 lakh people are catered for every day. It has been decided to hold a preparatory meeting in Haveri on October 20 to prepare for this.

Minister Sunil Kumar held a preliminary meeting at Vidhansouda today. Haveri district in-charge minister Shivram Hebbar, Kasapa president Mahesh Joshi, MLAs Nehru Olekar, Arun Kumar, Haveri DC and other officials were present in the meeting.

 

86th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelna: Invitation to Exhibition of Still Films

 

Bengaluru: The Kannada Sahitya Parishad has invited a silent film screening on the backdrop of the 86th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelna.

On November 11, 12 and 13, 2022, Dr. Kannada Sahitya Parishad president Mahesh Joshi said in a release that organizations have an opportunity to actively participate in the 86th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan parade, which is being organized under the chairmanship of Doddarange Gowda, to exhibit silent films (tablo).

This Akshara Jatra is not only celebrated by the Kannada Sahitya Parishad or the government, instead it is a Kannada festival celebrated by every Kannadigas, including the organizations of the Kannada nation. Thus, the organizations of the country with Kannada mind can artistically create a quiet picture reflecting the country, language, culture and achievements in the 86th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan parade and perform it in the conference parade. There is an opportunity to display still films that can depict the history of the country, language, heritage, literature, art, culture, achievements, ground sources and the participants should send an application containing full details of their organization and a design sample of which still films they will exhibit to ``President, Kannada Sahitya Parishad, Pampamahakavi Road,'' within office hours on October 17. Corona Fluctuation: 146 in Bangalore and 208 positive in the state; Death is zero


Bengaluru: The ups and downs of corona positive cases continue in the state, 208 people have been confirmed as covid positive in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of infected has increased to 40,66,176.

Still no death has been reported in the state due to the epidemic corona today. Thus the death toll is 40246, the Department of Health and Family Welfare said in a release.

146 people have been infected in Bangalore today. With this, the number of infected in the city has increased to 1872731. Health and Family Welfare Department said that no death due to Corona has been reported in the capital today.

Today 146 infected people have recovered and been discharged from the hospital in the state. With this, the number of people who have recovered from the infection has increased to 40,23,040. There are 2,848 active cases.

 

Dharmasthala deacons visited former Prime Minister Deve Gowda and inquired about his health


Bengaluru: Dharmasthala deacon Dr Virendra Heggade visited former Prime Minister and JDS leader Deve Gowda's residence at Padmanabhanagar in Bengaluru on Wednesday and inquired about his health.

His brother Harshendra was with him on this occasion. Suffering from knee pain and age-related ailments, Deve Gowda is taking a break from active political activities and is resting at his residence.

Recently, non-partisan political leaders met him and inquired about his health. Virendra Heggade was recently nominated as Rajya Sabha member by BJP.

Secret ballot for Congress President;

New Delhi: Congress Central Election Authority chief Madhusudan Mistry said on Wednesday that secret voting will be held for the election of the Congress party president and it is not possible to confirm who has voted for whom.

He said that the Election Authority has made every effort to provide equal opportunity to both the candidates.

Mallikarjuna Kharge and Shashi Tharoor are the candidates and the polling for the post of Congress president will be held on October 17. Counting of votes will be held on October 19.

Talking to reporters, Mistry informed about the entire process and methods of voting. After voting, the ballot boxes are sealed in the presence of the agents of the candidates. Then the returning officers of the respective states will reach the Congress headquarters with these boxes, Mistry said.

Before the counting of votes, the seals of the ballot boxes are opened in the presence of the candidates. He said that a strong room has been established at the Congress headquarters itself to keep the ballot boxes.

Responding to a question, he said that this election will be completely confidential. It is not known who voted for whom and how many votes a candidate got from which state. Mistry said that a complaint has been received regarding the election process and it has been resolved.
